It was surreal. I wasn’t sure. How does a soul feel after such devastating news? One-word came. Lump in my throat, looking away and then back into kind eyes, I whispered, “Unraveled.”
Walking to my car I had a vision of yarn totally undone: a knotted, twisted, tangled, horrific bloody mess to straighten out. Then I saw the nail-scarred hands holding that entire heap. I knew that mess represented me. By God’s grace, a calm settled, and His peace surrounded me. Sitting behind the steering wheel, I heard Hope Whispers. I pray the words I heard in my spirit comfort you, just as they comforted me then and still do today:
Never Stop Believing
Never stop believing
God is with you during the breaking
with you in the broken
with you when there are no words
to express the depth of brokenness.
Never stop believing
God has a plan
God has a purpose
no man can thwart and
no demon can prevail against.
Never stop believing
by God’s great grace and power
Jesus is holding you
every unraveled piece of you
in the palms of His nail-scarred hands.
Never stop believing
Jesus goes before you to make a straight path
He’s gone ahead of you and
He’s waiting for you
at the end of the race.
Never stop believing
you are cherished
loved with an everlasting love
held safe
all your days.
Never stop believing
God speaks light into darkness and
breathes life into dust
works miracles and somehow
all things for good.
Never stop believing
God is love
always faithful
giver of hope
that never ends.
